What Is the Difference Between FUE and NeoGraft Versus Linear Harvesting?
Results between NeoGraft/FUE and linear harvesting are comparatively similar. FUE procedures produce grafts that generally contain one, two, three, or four follicles, referred to as “follicular units.”
During strip or linear harvesting, a hair transplant surgeon removes follicles from the back of the scalp, then microscopically dissects the grafts into one, two, or three follicles, which will produce similar follicular unit grafts.
As long as the grafts in each procedure get implanted with care and precision into the recipient area, the final results with NeoGraft/FUE would approximate those resulting from linear harvesting. The difference occurs not in the area of hair growth, but in how hair follicles are harvested from the donor area either via a strip of skin on the scalp or by individual follicle extractions.
