Female Hair Restoration

Female Hair Loss Causes Explained

Hair loss can affect your scalp or body; it can be a temporary or permanent condition. Hair loss can result from genetics, a hormonal imbalance, medical conditions, or aging. Anyone can lose hair on the head, even women.

In general, people typically lose about 50 to 100 hairs every day. When you shed more than approximately 100 hairs a day, you’ll notice some bald spots or a part of your hair thinning or widening. As a result, you’re likely to experience female pattern hair loss.

Causes of Hair Loss in Women

Several factors can cause female pattern baldness:

  • Anemia (iron deficiency).
  • Anxiety or depression.
  • Autoimmune diseases.
  • Genetics.
  • Medications.
  • Thyroid conditions.

ATERA FUE System

At The Hair Transplant Center – Dallas, Dr. Thiele and his team of hair restoration experts offer the new and advanced ATERA FUE system that lubricates hair follicles at their root during extraction and keeps them moist until implantation. This lubrication increases the survival rate of hair grafts and prevents damage to them. The ATERA FUE system uses a digital counter to automatically keep track of the number of harvested hair grafts.

Ellis FUE System

The Ellis FUE system is an affordable hair restoration system involving an automated punch device that enhances a strip harvest procedure. It can also be used as a stand-alone device for a full FUE hair transplant. Ellis FUE technology enhances a conventional FUE procedure to contribute to the overall improvement of hair transplantation.

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)

In the past, hair transplantation involved cutting a strip of skin from the back or side of the head and extracting individual hair follicles to be transplanted to balding or thinning areas of the scalp. This technique was somewhat effective. However, the procedure left an extensive scar at the site of the hair removal, and it resulted in inaccurate placement of follicles at the recipient site.

With the invention of FUE, the desire for no visible scarring in the donor area became a reality. In this procedure, a hair transplant surgeon extracts the grafts as individual follicular units. The process of transplantation remains the same as the traditional “strip” method.

At The Hair Transplant Center – Dallas, Dr. Stefan Thiele selectively harvests small groups of follicular units while leaving only minimally invasive pinprick-sized marks on the scalp. He arranges these healthy follicles artistically at the target areas, allowing them to continue their growth while delivering natural-looking results.

Injections for Hair Loss

Dr. Thiele can address balding or thinning hair using other available treatment technologies. By drawing a blood sample and purifying it in a centrifuge, your plasma can be separated from blood. Plasma is rich in platelets responsible for clotting. Together, these platelets form a powerful serum that supports healing.

When injected at the site of balding or thinning areas of your scalp, platelets facilitate your dermal papilla cells at the base of hair follicles. When activated, these follicles increase the production of beta-catenin, the protein associated with hair growth. This protein supports follicles at their root, increasing your ability to grow natural hair.

NeoGraft FUE System

The NeoGraft FUE system represents the latest advancement in follicular unit extraction (FUE) technology. This device scans the landscape of your hair follicles and harvests the most active units. Its precise mapping ability separates the most efficient samples and collects them safely for use on thinning areas of your skin. Discover how the NeoGraft FUE system can transform hair restoration for women.

Topical Treatments

Our hair transplant surgeon, Dr. Thiele, can help you treat hair loss problems with topical treatments such as finasteride and minoxidil. Minoxidil, known by its brand name Rogaine, dilates blood vessels to allow blood to flow smoothly through them. As a result, this treatment partially expands hair follicles and lengthens the growth phase of the hair cycle.

Dr. Thiele also offers finasteride (Propecia) to his male patients with male pattern baldness to prevent miniaturizing hair follicles and stop hair loss by decreasing DHT levels in the body. These enzymes are responsible for hair loss.

While finasteride has not been approved by the FDA for female patients due to its possible link to birth defects, some studies show it can be effective among women.

WAW FUE System

The WAW FUE system takes advantage of a uniquely shaped extraction device created to closely mirror the natural shape of the follicular unit. This design allows Dr. Thiele to extract a significant quantity of high-quality grafts without making a larger incision while decreasing the risk of damaging healthy follicular units.

Benefits of Hair Restoration for Women

Hair loss in women frequently makes a greater impact than hair loss does on men because it’s less socially acceptable. When you begin to lose your hair, this hair loss can severely affect your emotional well-being and quality of life.

In women, androgenetic alopecia starts with progressive thinning at the part line, followed by diffuse hair loss at the top of the head. A woman’s hairline seldom recedes, and women rarely become bald.

At The Hair Transplant Center – Dallas, our hair restoration professional, Dr. Stefan Thiele, offers the most extensive hair replacement options. Our state-of-the-art Dallas facility and proficiency in hair transplant procedures offer safe, effective solutions to address your hair loss concerns. Eligible Candidates for Female Hair Restoration

Dr. Stefan Thiele of The Hair Transplant Center – Dallas can help you determine whether you are an eligible candidate for female hair restoration surgery when you schedule an initial consultation with him. If the back and sides of your head support healthy hair growth to serve as donor areas, then you may be a prime candidate for follicular unit extraction (FUE).

Preparing for a Hair Restoration Treatment at The Hair Transplant Center – Dallas
